The best part about fall minis...
is the eagerness you see in clients when they arrive for the shoot. Everyone is excited - some even come with a cup of pumpkin spice latte in hand! FYI, if you're looking for some great coffee and fall treats, check out Qamaria in Hilliard, Fox in the Snow (various locations), or Tous Les Jours near campus. Anyhow, the air is crisp, the leaves have changed colors, and everyone is thinking about Halloween and pumpkin patches... basically all the best things in life. As a photographer, I feel like I get the best of moods and the most genuine of smiles because everyone is pumped to be there. This year, I met a couple of families for fall minis at Scioto Park, down by the river. The kids got to play on the riverbed, collect rocks, and then even treat themselves to the playground afterwards. I, naturally, left with more shots than I knew what to do with. A fall well-spent, I say!
Now, I get a lot of questions on what kinds of clothing and colors people should wear for fall sessions. Take a look below to see some great examples. I always say solid colors photograph better, and as you can see in the photos, they really do. Imagine prints amidst the fall leaves, trees, and scenery - needless to say, you'd have very busy photos. In addition, color palettes that are primarily warm (think maroons, mustards, and burnt oranges) with a splash of denim make for a solid outfit. And lastly, can I just say that black looks AMAZING in the fall and would make for some super sleek, high-end looking shots. Who is in for Fall 2024??
