I get a lot of anxiety when...
...it comes to my own yearly family photos. It's true. Taking other people's photos is a major responsibility, but one that I actually have fun taking on. With my own family photos, I'm both behind AND in front of the camera. I spend nights trying determine the right outfits, and oh my goodness - do we have an on-fleek color palette?? Okay, now that I have the outfits, does the scenery go well with them? Or do I have the best location, but now have to change the outfits? How did Inaya outgrow all her dresses? All my husband's shirts look the same!
And that's just the pre-planning. When we start shooting, it's a whole different level of difficulty. By being in front of the camera, it can sometimes take eons just to get us all in focus. And then there's Nehan. My sweet little boy I would die for who makes me want to pull out each one of my eye lashes one by one. Awkward smiles, hands in front of his face, angry lewks, or the back of his head - Nehan is the reigning king of testing a photographer's patience.
So how did I get these photos? I'm a pro, of course! And well... I bribed my son with TV time... then threatened to take away all TV privileges for a week. #igetitdone
